Lighthouses on Stamps

Very special packet sent by Heleen (the Netherlands).

You can look more closely at the stamps if you wish... I was very surprised to discover that the Netherlands has issued stamps with lighthouses from other European countries!

I added this post to Sunday Stamps - II.

  1. I had never considered Europe to have an east coast before. I also like the direct translation for lighthouse in some of the northern countries like Netherlands and Norway - fire tower.

    1. That's a weird idea indeed. I had never considered "Saaremaa" (I was there) being in the east. But it all depens on the point of view...

  3. Happy to see the mail has arrived! These stamps were limited available (and alas not available anymore), so they are rare - so happy they didn't get lost in the post! (Thank you, PostNL and Correos!)

I always like to see how the post has stamped.. They did their best, and succeeded!, to put the postmarks on all stamps, even the ones in the edge :-)

    1. I'll keep them like a golden treasure! (And the book, of course). I have told you that it has arrived on a (lost?) postcard.
