It Is Still Summer, Isn't It? (II)

Envelope sent by FinnBadger (the USA). Also posted in his blog.

I think these stamps deserve a closer look.

  1. Great vegetables / fruit stamps! Vegetables and fruit are my favourite food (er, besides coffee and milk chocolate and 'drop'), and I love black-lined coloured illustrations (as is in most comics). To be short: these stamps are delightful!

(by the way - as a language lover I always wonder why tomatoes are named 'vegetables' (it is similar in Dutch) while it is the fruit of the tomato plant!)

    1. DH says there is a never-ending discussion among agronomist about this matter :)

    2. Oh, really? I thought agronomists would have consensus on this, or at least, that they scientifically had concluded that this distinction is as it is :-)

    3. They agree the tomato is the fruit. But it seems that the common name "vegetables" means nothing in the agronomic world :)

  2. Looks like this one traveled well. I really like this stamp set, they did a fantastic job with the design.

    1. Maybe the best design issued by USPS in recent times (but this is difficult to establish!).

  3. Talk about a saliva rush! Those tomatoes do it every time. I've bought 20 of the Summer Harvest stamps three times. :)

    1. I think I'd do so if I lived in the USA and could use them on my letters!
