This is a post for Sunday Stamps-II. Today the theme is Fireworks or night views.
This Canadian stamp was issued in 2010, commemorating the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. It shows a night view of the city of Vancouver. (More about this issue.)
And this Spanish stamp is another commemorative: of the 5th Centenary of the birth of Teresa of Ávila. The stamp show a detail of the sculpture The Ecstasy of St. Teresa, by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and, on the background, a night view of the walls of Àvila.
(A second post with fireworks on stamps.)
Thanks again for all your help last week.
ReplyDeleteTwo contrasting night views on your stamps. I would be happy to have either in my collection.
You're welcome. Everything Arabic catch my attention, as a student of Arabic language.
DeleteThese are both stunning stamps, thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting!
DeleteI had never seen the Vancouver stamp before.
ReplyDeleteGood eye on the Avila night view!
The Vancouver stamp is bigger than usual, I love it. And concerning the night view of Ávila... it was a sort of excuse to upload it to the blog: I am not very fond of stamps depicting religious themes.
DeleteSkyscrapers at night, always a great sight.
ReplyDeleteIs only for that they built skyscrapers, isn't it?
DeleteThat's a nice panoramic stamp from Vancouver. And agree with Violet, good eye on the Spanish one!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maria!
