Sunday Stamps | G

I received this stamp three weeks ago. I think I wouldn't possibly find any better one to illustrate Sunday Stamps-II's theme: G.

It was issued in august 2006 to commemorate the founding of The Society of Graphic Designers of Canada. More information about the stamp.

  1. Wow, this is a great stamp!
I love typography (and animals) so this graphic design is a delight for the (my) eyes!
And althought the animal depicted is a beaver, to me he/she looks like a Guinea piG :-)

    1. I think it is!
But, for me, it is still difficult to see the beaver... :|

  4. Perfect choice!
Though I still can't really see the 'unique interpretation of a beaver'!

    1. Same here, concerning the beaver (?).

    2. I see his back feet coming off the top part of the G and his front feet coming off what looks like a C.

    3. Maybe... But still, I understand why they say that the interpretation is unique!

    4. I think because one important detail is missing: the tail!
That's why I thought it a guinea pig, but the background information keeps on telling it is a beaver. And beavers without the wellknown flat beaver tails are unique.

    6. Er, or maybe they mean the 'foot' of the 'g' is depicting the beaver's tail, which makes it a very weird (thus unique) tail?

    7. yeah, I thought the foot of the g must be the tail - but then I've never seen a beaver contort himself like this!
