Sunday Stamps | U(nited Nations)

I received these letters months ago, sent by Phillip through the United Nations postal system. Both sets of stamps promote the 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted at the 2015 UN Summit.

The stamps above were issued on 24 October 2016, and sent from New York (the USA). You can see the whole set here. Have you noticed that pretty postmark?

The letter below arrived from Vienna. The Smurfs stamps were launched to celebrate the International Day of Happiness on 20 March 2017. They want "to encourage people to take action to protect the planet and promote a peaceful and just world", with the slogan Even a small Smurf can make a big difference!

I am adding this post to Sunday Stamps-II, for the letter U.

  2. A smurf in a diving helmet is so amusing. A fun way to put across the message that we can all make a difference.

  4. I also chose the UN today... so nice to see these again. I was intrigued that the postal worker at Vienna added the priority sticker.

    1. I'm happy you did, because I hadn't the time to take a picture of the bear envelope that arrived just few days ago.

    1. Ils sont souvent trop jolis. Je n'ai pas envore essayé d'envoyer des lettres à travers ce système, mais je veux le faire prochainement.

  7. Considering that on one of the stamp forums I was reading, not one person thought they were collectible, and yet so many of us chose UN as for our U!

    1. Curious! I've got few UN stamps (all from Phillip), but, so far, they are really good designs and interesting topics.
