DeleteI see those Blue Jays in my yard from time to time. They can be noisy and aggressive but they are beautiful birds.

DeleteBlue Jays are a most annoying bird, but also so lovely to look at.
ReplyDeleteThe upside down Blue Tit is fun. The sleek feathering of the Hummingbird contrasts nicely with the ruffled feathers of the Kingisher.
And a new emirate for me - never heard of Manama. Interesting that they chose to use a leaf 'wallpaper' background for a rock thrush.
I learned the word kingfisher when I bought some blue knitting yarn named like that :)
DeleteI think Manama belongs to Ajman. They issued stamps for few years.
They always remind me of the Jabber Jays in Hunger Games for some reason.

DeleteThere's also a blue-winged kookaburra, or kingfisher, in Australia which is more common than the red-backed. In fact in my home state of Western Australia the kookaburra is not indigenous, but has somehow come all the way across the deserts from eastern Australia to make its home here as well.

DeleteBlue heaven. I'm always envious when people post photos of blue jays in their back yard. Still our blue tits are adorable too and judging by the comments, quieter.

DeleteI think I must have discovered stamp collecting in 1966, that blue tit stamp and the Battle of Hastings set evoke strong memories.

DeleteI get to see blue jays and humming birds when I stay with my daughter in Michigan. Blue tits are frequent visitors to our garden here. Great selection of bird stamps - thank you.
