When I first read today's theme of Sunday Stamps, Red, this is the first stamp that came to my mind. It is a 1967 stamp which features Sir Thomas Lawrence's work, Master Lambton. The popular name of this portrait made in 1825 is The Red Boy.

DeleteThat red doesn't look so bright in other reproductions. It seems Charles William Lambton of Lambton Castle (yes, the one with the Lambton Worm) was aged 7 in this painting, but he died at 13 from TB.
