Today's theme in Sunday Stamps is Food &/or Drink.
Maybe beer is not the best choice during the cold months, but these stamps are two favourites of mine.
7 April 2016 500th Anniversary of German Beer Purity Law |
9 September 2010 Bicentenary of Oktoberfest in Munich |
Update: Browsing the Postcrossing site, I found this postcard.
Those Oktoberfest patrons are having fun!
ReplyDeleteProsit!
It's a cheerful design, isn't it.
DeleteThe top stamp is such a brilliant design.
ReplyDeleteThe person who sent it, wrote that she didn't like the stamp. But it's one of my favourites, and better in person. It really looks like a beer!
DeleteI find it simple yet striking. I'm also entertained that beer standards were high on the list of priorities 500 years ago, rather than say civil rights :)
DeleteAn maybe still nowadays :)
DeleteCertainly nowadays; food purity should always be a priority.
DeleteA nice combination, I like the merry-go-round concept. Your choice might be what is called a winter warmer for the cold months, usually dark beers, I think it refers to the alcohol content rather than temperature of the beer.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that "winter warmer" concept. I would associate the beer rather with the summer & sun.
DeleteThese stamps are making me a bit thirsty......
ReplyDelete:D
DeleteI never made to an Oktober Fest - will just have yo enjoy this stamp.
ReplyDeleteNeither made I. But it would be fun!
