Ar-Men (in Brittany, France) is probably the most famous lighthouse in the world. It has been nicknamed The Hell of Hells by the community of the lighthouse keepers, because of the severe conditions there.
It looks perfect on this envelope made by Fabienne (France), made out of a page of a calendar. I like how the postmark imitates the waves around the stamp...
The other stamp features Pierre Louis Moreau de Maupertuis (mathematician and philosopher) and Charles Marie de la Condamine (explorer, geographer and mathematician):
Excellent lighthouse stamp!
ReplyDeleteI love the series (and, actually, any lighthouse stamp!).
DeleteHeureuse que la lettre soit bien arrivée malgré la tempête ,j'aime cette comparaison avec les vagues si poétique ....
