Sunday Stamps | Roads


Two stamps issued in Malaysia in 2011, dedicated to Underground Engineering Excellence. I find rather curious the second stamp, featuring a schematic cross-section on the SMART Tunnel.



The M4 Viaduct stamp belongs to the 1968 British Bridges series.  

This is also a post for Sunday Stamps, today's topic being Roads.

    That M4 stamp with no traffic always makes me laugh!
    The first stamp of the tunnel is interesting - I wonder if those three round things on the roof are cameras (and, if so, why three?). The road also seems to be one way, and no one is staying in their lane!

      I think the 3 things are fans. Here in Norfolk we have lots of tunnels with fans to circulate air.

    Wow the SMART tunnel is a fascinating and foresighted engineering design. An empty M4 is indeed amusing, if only we could time travel for our motorway journeys:)
