This novel was recommended by John with these clever words (reproduced without his permission):
It's part romance, part mystery and part something else (I can't tell you what exactly because that might spoil the ending...)
I really enjoyed it! I think the title is enough to catch the eye of mail lovers. However, the original French is Le facteur émotif. And in English it was first published as Postman's Round.
A promising title which indeed catches my attention! As far as I know it alas hasn't been translated into Dutch. In German it's called 'Siebzehn Silben Ewigkeit' which means '17 syllables eternity' and I think this title wouldn't have attracted my attention..
I wanted to read this in the original (French), but it was impossible to find it. So finally I read it English.
All the titles are adequate, but I think 'The Peculiar Life...' is far more attractive. It's a short novel, quick to read and sometimes funny, I recommend it to you.
I'm very grateful to John. I read it because of him!

It's a pleasure. It's always nice when one recommends something and the person likes it.
