These stamps, issued on 3 April 2018, belong to the series History of Clothing, which Magyar Posta began in 2016. It presents two 17th-century wedding outfits that are kept in the Esterházy treasury. More information about these stamps.

Deleteeven though a neighbouring country, I rarely see Hungarian stamps, and these are really pretty...a small representation of what a rich culture that I am sure is so worth exploring..!

DeleteYou are right, it's for men: "The first stamp shows a dolman, the undercoat of Hungarian male clothing, which could be worn over a shirt without a pelisse"
I really like his outfit - those buttons sound magnificent! - but hers looks so heavy, and I am distracted by how short her arms look.
