Another king of houses for the Houses in the Mail project: boat houses (or houseboats?). There are many in the gracht (='canals') of Amsterdam, but also in other cities of the Netherlands, as Heleen wrote.
I love the tiny details of Heleen's drawings on the envelope, and also its house-shape. And, of course, the postcards inside!
Snd funny that PostNL did their best to cancel the dragonfly and salamander stamp: they are from the gulden era (80 cent of a guilder, not euro), so not valid for postage in 2018 anymore. The valid stamps are the bicycle/earth-wheel stamps, so canceling those two would be sufficient:-)
You are correct that in English it would be houseboats. What a fun piece of envelope art to match the postcards inside.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLa vostra nova casa és així? :D
ReplyDeleteMmm... quasi: veig les barques pel balcó! :)
DeleteGlad the houseboats arrived well!

Probably PostNL wanted to add some waves to the salamander's water :-)
