The colours and combinations of Machin stamps on envelopes seem infinite, and they produce always gorgeous envelopes, like this letter sent by Alan.
You can even use those for mail art (not postage). It would had never occurred to me to stick the stamps in the way John did:
I love what John did with these stamps!
ReplyDeleteThe last time I was at my stamp dealer, I started collecting the low values for one of each colour. I intended to go back with more money to start on the higher values... then covid derailed that. Now I really have to watch my spending.
I still have to organise mine, so not sure how many different values I have in my collection. I find these stamps more and more fascinating.
DeleteIf you count all the varieties of colour, value, perforation, phosphor etc there are over 2500 Machin varieties to collect!
ReplyDeleteI am not an exhaustive collector. My pages with 100-different Machin or so will look gorgeous to me :D
DeleteThe flags are a really clever idea.
ReplyDeleteA colourful surprise in the mailbox!
