Women on Stamps is a favourite theme. So, difficult to choose stamps with a common thread among the received stamps for today's Sunday Stamps...
Simone de Beauvoir (1908-1986) Philosopher, writer, social theorist, and feminist activist |
Sophie Calle (1953) Writer, photographer, installation artist and conceptual artist |
Émilie du Châtelet (1706-1741) Natural philosopher and mathematician |
Françoise Dolto (1908-1988) Paediatrician and psychoanalyst |
Jeanne Moreau (1928-2017) Actress, singer, screenwriter and director |
Lovely French collection!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteJe n'avais pas prêté attention au fait que Jeanne Moreau avait joué dans un film intitulé "Eva" et puis que Dolto et De Beauvoir étaient nées et décédées les mêmes années .
ReplyDeletethe birth and death of both De Beauvoir and Dolto in the same years is a cool coincidence!
DeleteEn fait je viens de m'apercevoir que Simone De Beauvoir est décédée en 1986 :(
DeleteMerci, j'ai emmené l'erreur.
DeleteI knew of the first and last of your women, but the others were new - Dolto, especially, had an interesting life.
ReplyDeleteShe had. I learn from her thanks to this stamp.
DeleteThank you for sharing! I know Moreau only as an actress, interesting that she did much more.
ReplyDeleteSame here.
DeleteThe De Beauvoir stamp is lovely, with the bonus of a great selvedge. Like your Parisian theme.
ReplyDeleteI love it to. I like stamps showing handwritings :)
