Marianne de l'avenir

Marianne is one of the most prominents symbols of France. In 175 years, there have been 30 versions of the Marianne stamps.

It is a tradition that the President of the Republic chooses the face which adorns the stamps in circulation during his mandate. After the 2018 design (see below), the face chosen in 2023 is a work by Olivier Balez, called Marianne de l'avenir ('Marianne of the future').

She appears on 400 million stamps.
