Today's theme for Sunday Stamps-II is Flowers. You have probably seen this one, because Heleen uploaded it (among other beauties) for the Easter topic of Sunday Stamps-II.
I couldn't help but show you how beautiful it looks on this envelope that she sent, after a short conversation about crocuses:
Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joy.
DeleteThere is no mistaking this flower for sure.
ReplyDeleteSure, Bob.
DeleteI love the design of this stamp - a classic depiction on a modern-looking stamp. I also am a big fan of crocuses - they are usually the first flowers of the year and add some brightness in the fading days of winter.
ReplyDelete(PS I added the full stamp sheet to my blog today)
Me too, I find the design very modern.
DeleteI love the aroma of crocuses.
I don't think I saw any crocuses this spring - possibly due to the frost and snow in April?!
ReplyDeleteSame here. We have a strange spring, autumn-like.
DeleteI have just seen crocuses during my holidays in Spain, in my Mom's flowerpots!
Thank you for posting!
ReplyDelete(we were lucky to see lots of crocuses in real last month..)
As I wrote, I've seen them just on flowerpots this year.
DeleteDutch PostNL happens to have issued more stamps on flowers, and on butterflies recently, all made by Dutch illustrator, Janneke Brinkman-Salentijn, a famous nature painter.
ReplyDeleteThere are also butterflies on the stamps sheet of which I tore out this crocus stamp. I hope to show some butterflies for next Sunday's theme 'Butterflies'. However, I don't have this particular stamp sheet complete anymore... :-)
I'm sure you will find at least one butterfly ;-)
DeleteLovely stamp! Actually I think it may help me now and recognize a crocus in real life, since frankly, I'm terrible in differentiating most of the flowers out there...
ReplyDeleteYou're right. It seems the illustration of a botany book.
