I think I would have loved a postcard written from Enid Blyton or Eric Linklater as a child. Receiving a postcard of a Terry Pratchett quote would be something I'd like now - it's still hard to think he's gone from this world :( Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace
Jane Austen gets an awful lot of publicity - stamps, coins and bank notes and now this postcard. I've lost count of the times that adaptations of her books have appeared on TV.
I am not sure if I have seen any of those TV adaptations. But at least I have read all her books! The first books I ever read on an e-reader were the complete works of this author.
I wish Miss Jane thought a little more highly of herself!
You know, now that you ask, my mind goes completely blank on who I'd like to receive a postcard from! lol I hate when that happens! I do have a book autographed by Brad Thor, if that counts. :)
That postcard could describe me!

You're not alone, it seems (see previous comment). There is a nice stamp of Maya Angelou recently issued by USPS.

ReplyDeleteA Enid Blyton postcard would have made my day, too. I received recently a postcard with Terry Prachett books (in Czech!).
DeleteI just remembered that I've got a (handmade) postcard from Enid Blyton characters too!
DeleteJane Austen or Neil Gaiman! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a postcard of Neil Gaiman, but I'm sure they exist.

DeleteI would choose Ursula K. Le Guin for a postcard from a living author, Frank Herbert and Philip K. Dick from the deceased.

I think I haven't seen any of those on a postcard.
DeleteFor an MMSA postcard challenge I made a card based on Herbert's Dune and one for Philip K. Dick's The Man in the High Castle.
DeleteMMSA favorite novel
I think J K Rowling and if do get one, I'd give it to my son and see the thrilled expression on his face!

I have two friends very fond of Austen books (as myself), and they send me postcards from time to time. That's great!
DeleteA postcard with a Mark Twain quote would be brilliant, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI think I've seen those. But I'm not always sure that the quotes are true, or just attributed to him.
DeleteI would prefer Jane Austen or Danielle Steel

#AtoZChallenge The Letter K
That counts, of course :)
DeleteI received once a letter from an author (Amélie Nothomb) and I was over the moon.
I have no idea which author I would most like to receive a postcard from. There are too many to choose from.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid you are right.
DeleteI think I'd like to receive a Shakespeare postcard. I grew up quite close to the area he was, so it would be a little reminder of home. :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my "J" post :) http://nataliewestgate.com/2017/04/johnny-secret-diary-of-a-serial-killer
I have received quite a few Shakespeare-related postcards!
