The stamp above belongs to a series of 1980, that features Victorian Women in Literature: Charlotte Brönte (Jane Eyre), George Elliot (The Mill on the Floss), Emily Brönte (Wuthering Heights) and Elizabeth Gaskell (North and South). You can see the four stamps here.
In 2005, to commemorate World Book Day and the 150th anniversary of the death of Charlotte Bronte Royal Mail issued a set of 6 stamps, a miniature sheet and a prestige book. The stamps show different scenes of Jane Eyre.

Quelle belle idée le thème qui honorent les femmes au travers de leurs différents talents pour ton"sunday stamps"AZ
ReplyDeleteI hope you will like the whole.
DeleteIt amazed me at the time that Royal Mail chose (or managed to get) world renowned artist Paula Rego to bring her unique style to the 2005 Jane Eyre stamps. Happy coincidence for your theme.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteI am impressed that you are choosing women for a second time. Looking forward to learning about many women I have not heard about.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of these sisters, I think the only novel I have read is Wuthering Heights.
j'ai cru comprendre qu'Eva avait décidé que son "sunday stamps AZ " serait uniquement réservé aux femmes mais je me trompe peut être .
DeleteI meant for a second full A to Z.
DeleteI think this fourth round will be a bit less creative than the second, but I hope you will like the stamps as well :)
DeleteI dont read classics that often, but I love Charlotte Bronte's books and Jane Eyre is no exception - I even really loved the movie from 1996, which is a rarity... I almost never like movies based on books :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the film. I'm more in Austen's team :D
DeleteTwo sets of Bronte stamps that I wish I had. Three fine authors.
ReplyDeleteThey are!
