As Valentine's Day, I don't celebrate the Chinese New Year. But there is almost nothing you can't celebrate a little through mail... So I made a postcard for Heleen's project Weird Existing Animals. Don't worry, my sheep is vegetarian friendly!
I also drew a mail sheep on the envelope. This is the final version, what the recipient have received and posted:
And I included a postcard with some real Estonian sheep:
Great idea! Could you tell us more about the stamps? I noticed you had one in a previous post, and they are intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI like this stamp. It's a special issue Morocco-Monaco. There are two stamps on the set, one is the postage rate for Europe, the other one the postage rate within Morocco. In this one you can see a monument in Rabat: the Hassan II Tower.
DeleteSee here the set: http://www.philatelie.ma/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product2_11001_11851_67301_-2_12451_12451_12451_ProductDisplay
As I have written many times, when I go to the post office I don't have the choice. They usually have just one kind of stamp (in bigger cities isn't like that). So I was happy to get this one! It was issued last November.
And these are the Monegasque stamps:

Thanks for the links - now the Morocco stamp makes more sense - really neat design.
DeleteHave you thought about buying stamps online? I usually do this now as smaller post offices run out of new issues fast, and bigger post offices are often very busy, so unless you get a nice clerk it can be a battle.
That's a good idea, but the online shop doesn't work. I've tried with three different cards :(
DeleteIn Spain is also difficult. You can buy online only if you are a subscriber (my husband is). But then is really annoying because they don't have a real shop, you must order by e-mail.
And in the post offices they are often run out stamps and tell you: "go to the tobacconist's". I always complain about the same, but the fact is that this situation is ridiculous. Why they don't wish to sell items?!?
That is very frustrating. The USPS website may not be the easiest to navigate, but I rarely have problems with my orders.
ReplyDeleteHahahah realment divertit!
ReplyDeleteCrec que m'estic obsessionant amb la teiximenta...
DeleteI love your drawings (and the postcards, and the stamps), thank you very much, Eva!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy New Year! One cannot wish each other enough happy new years, to my honest opinion :-)
Although I think for you the real, one-and-only, deepest felt celebration day must be Saint Jordi's Day (isn't it?!)!
You're right about new years... :D
DeleteI love Saint Jordi, yes :D
