Carel Fabritius (1622-1654) was a Dutch painter, and one of the Rembrandt's most gifted pupils. These stamps issued in 2004 features some of his masterpieces.

DeleteI didn't know the name despite the fact I've seen man in a fur hat and I've lost count of the number of articles written about Donna Tart's novel The Goldfinch. I might remember his name now!

DeleteThere has been a fair bit of news about The Goldfinch movie lately. It was at the Toronto International Film Festival and has not had good reviews. I saw the painting, the very tiny painting, soon after the book came out, and was not impressed.

Fascinating sheet. I am intrigued by the repetition of the bird.
