Dag van de Postzegel

These stamps were issued to commemorate the Dag van de Postzegel (='(Postage) stamp's day' 'Day of Postage', according to Google Translate). But postage day can be every day!

Have you noticed those wonderful snails drawn by Heleen on the envelope? (They appear also on the postcard).

  1. How nice to see the card, stamps and snails again here!
I notice that google translate thinks 'day of the postzegel' means the day the stamp was pasted (and the mail was sent).
However, 'Dag van de Postzegel' literally means '(Postage) stamp's day', 'Dia del Segell'. But... Segell looks like zegel! How coincidental! :-) In Dutch the emphasis is on the first syllable, zé-, and the g in Dutch is pronounced as the Spanish j.
