MA Zine #1 | The Big Bag Theory

Inspired by the rhythm of mail deliveries this year, I made this humble* zine: The Big Bag Theory and Other Entropic Postal Rules.

I have sent it to some friends, but I still have a couple of spare ones. If you feel curious, just send me a postcard or a letter** and I will send it to you by snail mail.

*Just 8 pages DIN A7, printed in black and white.
**If you do not have my address, contact me via e-mail or the contact form.

I Follow You

I am not on social media, but there are some blogs I read regularly, and some newsletters I suscribe to.

Elan Ullendorff, of Escape the Algorithm*, announced the Escape the Algorithm ᵐⁱᶜʳᵒsupporter Program in February. Contrary to other newsletters, to become a paid subscriber of the newsletter, you can pay money, but also "perform a tiny act of codependence". Suggestions include sending a postcard; although my postcard cannot compete with gifts like a jar of Danish raw honey... I really like the idea of "soften the para part of our parasocial relationship".

*Escape the Algorithm is a newsletter about taking control of our attention and finding a more human side of the internet.

Drama (Revisited)

Usually, my postal drama is that I only get mail once or twice a month, while the mail I send usually reaches its recipients in a reasonable amount of time.

But in an unexpected twist, the Christmas postcard I sent my sister on 2 December 2024, arrived yesterday (20 January 2025): a journey of 49 days.

We live in the same town.

32,72 Km a Day

According to the Postcrossing stats, the average time travel of my postcards to Russia is 36 days. 100 days is quite a long time. It is as if this postcard had slowly walked to its destination, in a very relaxed way.

This is the postcard:

'
Relájate = 'Relax yourself'
Relaja te = 'Relax tea'

Good Things Project (I)

A friend gave me a postcard calendar at the beginning of the year, and I decided to sent the postcards back to her, month by month. I chose a theme: Good things that happened this month.
No January postcard on the picture above because I took the picture in February. But I managed to send the whole set.

Letters to Santa

I have sent two letters to Santa Claus. Do you think he is going to reply? Probably not, as he is so busy this time of the year!
