Eid Stamps

Letter sent by Phillip (the USA). It arrived a bit after the Eid, so I wait to upload it in the next one.

It is quite difficult to take a proper picture of these blue and golden stamps. You can have a better look here.

The Christmas Version

Bryon (the USA) sent me this card during the summer. It is an original retro version of the Space Needle, drawn by The Brush & Mallett. It arrived inside an orange envelope, and with really summer (and yummy!) stamps:

Some days ago, I was happily surprised when the holidays version arrived!

Now I am imagining those giant Christmas lights...

Eid Greetings

FinnBadger sent these stamps some weeks ago, but I thought it could be nice use it to wish Eid Mubarak to people who celebrate it.

I am sorry that there was no way to take a better picture of them. These green and golden stamps looks really nice on the envelope.

Featuring calligraphy from the 2011 Eid Stamp with a new green background, this issuance commemorates the two most important festivals — or eids — in the Islamic calendar: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. On these days, Muslims wish each other Eid Mubarak, the phrase shown in calligraphy on the stamp. Eid Mubaraktranslates literally as “blessed festival” and can be paraphrased “May your religious holiday be blessed.” Artist and calligrapher Mohamed Zakariya worked with art director Phil Jordan to create this design.

Eid Mubarak

Sent by Mercé (Pakistan).

Today  (+/- 1 day) is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide: عيد الاضحى (Eid al-Adha). So I wish you عيد مبارك if you celebrate this festival.

In fact, I received this card for the other big Muslim festival: عيد الفطر (Eid al-Fitr), but I had not time to publish it. Mail is not so fast between Pakistan and Morocco, you know.

I was surprised by the way my friend put the stamps on the envelope:

Getting Mail from Pakistan

This is one of the postcards my friend Mercé sent me last summer from Pakistan. I consider it being a mail adventure, because it took ages to arrive. It is why I am using it to wish you عيد مبارك this year! Actually, my friend sent another postcard, but sadly it never reached my mail box... :(
I'm afraid it is not easy to receive mail from Pakistan.
