Non-Halloween Mail

Actually, cat-related mail. But it includes one of the Halloween USA stamps (from 2019). I am afraid that USPS does not issue any Halloween stamp this year.

And some non-Halloween crows that arrived together, on letters from Catherine (France ) and Laura (the UK):

Halloween Meetup

Heleen (the Netherlands) sent this postcard from a Postcrossing meeting held in Breda last year, with a Halloween theme. It got its own personalised stamp matching with the postcard design:

Halloween Time

If you want something really frightening... What about these real mummies? The postcard show a mummies museum in Guanajuato (Mexico). On the picture, there is supposed to be the smallest mummy in the world. 

As a curiosity, the postcard arrived with this paper attached (with a staple). I had never seen a customs declarations form for a postcard.

The postcard was sent on 11 August, and arrived on 26 October.

Confusing Halloween

And a postcard I got from Heleen soon after Halloween 2022. Sent from Belgium, although the meet-up was in the Netherlands:

This one came with a wonderful (favourite!) stamp on the back:

Pumpkin Beer

I think this is the only Halloween-themed envelope I sent last year. It was an envelope decorated with a beer label, and it went to Byron (the USA).

I guess the stamps got also pretty scarred by the terrible postal machines that destroy them...

Sunday Stamps | Do These Cute Monsters Scare You?

I got these on the back of postcards sent by Bryon (the USA). I wish they had existed when the Mail Monsters Project was alive!

These monsters are the creation of Canadian author and illustrator Elise Gravel. The stamps were issued on 24 September 2021. In the pane margin area surrounding the 20 stamps are small printed hearts, hats, flowers, word balloons and thought bubbles that can be applied to the stamp when it is used to frank a card or letter for mailing. Things Which Are Not So Common on Postcards

Gravestones. Although famous people's gravestones are not so uncommon... The statue of Eleanor Rigby is in the centre of Liverpool, near the Cavern Club.

Bones. It reads "The Giant Lizard Fossil. Photoed by Yan Xian" on the back of this postcard, but I don't know which museum it belongs to. It was sent from China through the Postcrossing site, and it took 110 days (?!) to arrive.

Hell. No words.
