Sunday Stamps | Wright Brothers (and More)

USA, 2003

The Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, Wright, were American aviation pioneers generally credited with inventing, building, and flying the world's first successful motor-operated airplane. The Wright Flyer made the first flight on 17 December 1903.

Cyprus, 2021

Today's Sunday Stamps is dedicated to Planes, trains, automobiles. Automobiles are far from being a favourite topic of mine. However, from some reason, every then and now I get a postcard featuring them. Like this one, sent by Eckhard (Germany), through the Postcrossing site:

It is a bit contradictory that it arrived with a railway station stamp on the back, isn't it?
Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz Station, Leipzig (2023)

The stamp belongs to the series Underground Station Architecture, initiated three years ago. I have got two more stamps from it:
Marienplatz Station, Munich (2020)

Überseequartier Station, Hamburg (2021)

Peace from Cyprus

It seems the Peace Stamp Project has stopped now. But one more envelope arrived some days ago, this time, from Cyprus.

Tarzan is a literary creature of Edgar Rice Burroughs. Do you remember this popular fictional character, usually depicted as wearing a loincloth and jumping from tree to tree in the jungle?

Postcards from Cyprus

Sunset along the southern coastline

I got these postcards from Cyprus through the Postcrossing site, and they just made my day. Not only because the sender mailed two instead of only one, also because I love the themes and they were written completely in Greek (I need a bit more time to understand the 100%, of course...).

Leda and the goose. Pafos.

I had only received this postcard from Cyprus, back in 2013.

Cyprus

Received from Aarón (Cyprus).

This is my very first postcard from Cyprus, sent by that friend I have already spoken about (yes: he arrived! And he has even come back. Postal services sometimes are slowly...). It shows Hala Sultan Tekke on the Salt Lake (Larnaca, Cyprus). You could think this is any Arabic country.
