Paz

Getting as many as possible of these Peace Stamps was my 2023 postal project. I did not expect to receive more of them, but a new one arrived on the back of a postcard sent by Pedro (Portugal).

53 Weeks 53 Postcards

Das ist Quatsch mit Soße
In British English: "That's bollocks"
In American English: "That's baloney"

This was sent by Nora (Germany), from her project 53 weeks 53 postcards. It consists in sending 53 postcards this year:

I received a postcard calender (KUHL (2026) - Kulturverlag Kadmos Berlin) as a gift. The postcards are not thin like in other calenders, just regular good postcard quality. The postcards show German sayings literally translated in English, so that often creates funny sayings. But don’t worry, the meaning is explained correctly in English on the back. Each of the cards shows cows.

I plan on sending one written and stamped postcard per week from this calendar next year (2026).

All is Well That Ends Well

One on my postal projects in 2025 was to count how many days I received mail. Here is the final count:
  1. January: 3 days
  2. February: 1 day
  3. March: 1 day
  4. April: 4 days
  5. May: 5 days
  6. June: 8 days
  7. July: 7 days
  8. August: 7 days
  9. September: 5 days
  10. October: 6 days
  11. November: 6 days
  12. December: 9 days
After a frustrating quarter, things got better. Finally, December was the best mail month of 2025. So we can only hope that 2026 will be even better!

Apart from some postcards and a special postmark, I have been lucky enough to get the Dutch 20-years Postcrossing stamp. And not only once!

20 Years of Postcrossing (2)

Among the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Postcrossing, it was also this special postmark that I have received thanks to Bryon (the USA).

It is on the back of this postcard. At first sight... I thought it was the same one!

20 Years of Postcrossing (1)

I have not been a full 20 year postcrosser (only almost 17 years), and I confess I did not properly celebrate the day*. However, I am happy to see one of the most wonderful projects ever is still alive and growing in its 20th anniversary

As I was happy to get these postcards from Bryon! --Have you noticed the red postcard is also on the other one?!?

*No worries: everyday is a good day to send postcards!

States Project | The Show-Me State

I guess you remember Bryon's States Project Well, the missing postcard, Missouri, just landed. Sent on 15 October 2024, but only got a postmark on 10 May 2025, and it arrived on 3 June 2025. That makes it a completely successful project: 50/50!

Mail Deliveries in May

I naïvely thought we were back to weekly deliveries. However, as you see,  postal systems operate in a completely random manner:
