20 Years of Postcrossing (4)
This postcard is a commemorative re-edition of PT-1, the very first postcard sent trough Postcrossing in 2005. It celebrates 20 years of postcard exchanges, friendships, and connections across the globe --a small tribute to the journey that started with a single card, and grew into a worldwide community.
And eventually Heleen (the Netherlands) sent it. Now I have two versions!

Sunday Stamps | Lord Mayor's Show
The Lord Mayor's Show is one of the best-known annual events in London as well as one of the longest-established, dating back to the 13th century. A new lord mayor is appointed every year, and the public parade that takes place as his or her inauguration ceremony reflects that this was once one of the most prominent offices in England.

150 Years of French Postcards
On December 20, 1872, on the proposal of the director of the Rampont-Léchin Post Office, a finance law formalized the birth of the postcard in France. The first cards circulated on January 15, 1873 and were a resounding success: in one week, 7,412,700 copies were sold. From 1890, the postcard became the preferred medium for correspondence.

Sunday Stamps | The British Museum
The stamp above features Sutton Hoo Helmet c6ooad. Excavated from the ship burial in Suffolk, it is one of only four Anglo-Saxon helmets found in Britain.
The stamp below shows a statue of Alexander the Great, c2OObC . Alexander was deified in his own lifetime, and after his death was worshipped as a god in images such as this.

Sunday Stamps | End of War
Today's theme in Sunday Stamps is a serious one: End of war commemorative, Remembrance Day, or military. Not my favourite, but I found some stamps that can fit in:

Sunday Stamps | Black
I may have a lot of black stamps, but these two came immediately to my mind when I read the theme of today's Sunday Stamps: The black colour.

Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1918-2004) was an Emirati politician, statesman, and philanthropist who served as the first president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 1971 until his death in 2004. He is credited as the founding father and the principal driving force behind the formation of the UAE, uniting seven emirates.
2018 was declared the Year of Zayed to mark 100 years since his birth.

Sunday Stamps | Postal Services
Stamps issued in 1975, commemorating the bicentennial of the United States Postal Service. I got them in 2021, though!
And some of the stamps issued by the Hungarian postal service, from 2017 on (I think it is an ongoing series), to celebrate the 150 anniversary of the postal service:
This is a post for Sunday Stamps. The theme today is Postal.
