Multiple Postcrossing Accounts

These postcards arrived from Hong Kong via Postcrossing, a year apart. The one above arrived on 2 February 2023, and the one below, on 3 January 2024.

A couple of weeks ago, when I was sorting through my postcards, I realised that they had been sent by the same person. How that could be? A mistake of the system? It is simpler: she or he holds more than one Postcrossing account.

I do not really understand what is the aim of having more than one account. And that is what Postcrossing says about having multiple accounts:
Postcrossing does not welcome multiple accounts per person. The project is designed with safety and fairness in mind and for that, certain limits have been applied to each account. By having more than one account, those restrictions no longer apply, creating several problems for other members and for Postcrossing as well. [...]
We occasionally tolerate that one person holds more than one account if within a reasonable amount, and only if we see strong evidence of proper usage. But, we still do not welcome such practices and we strongly discourage anyone from doing it. Postcrossing monitors the project for multiple accounts held by a single person, and we reserve the right to delete any such accounts without warning.

Beer Day

Bonnie (Hong Kong) sent this postcard during the winter. But a cold beer is surely more appealing in the middle of the summer, and especially during the International Beer Day. I wish you a happy beer if you are among the beer drinkers!

Sculptures I

Letter sent by Fabienne (France), with some stunning stamps.

Stamp issued on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the discovery by Howard Carter of the tomb of Tutankhamun, the 11th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (23 June 2023).

L'âge d'airain, by Auguste Rodin. Stamp from 1974.

Stamp Day 1963. Gallo-Roman post.

Issued on 18 February 1961, this stamp depicts La Méditerranée (1905), a 1,03 m bronze located in the Carrousel de Tuileries garden in Paris, made by Aristide Maillol.

The stamp depicts a head of Buddha and a head of Hermes by Praxiteles, symbolizing East and West respectively. It was issued in 1961.

This stamp (a series, actually) relates to a postcard I have recently got through the Postcrossing site, featuring another imposing sculpture: The Great Buddha in Hong Kong.

Mother and Child

I got this postcard in June, through the Postcrossing site. So, it was not intended for Christmas... But the illustrated side is very Christmassy!

Madonna and child with two angels

Florence, Gallerie degli Uffizi

The messages on the back are quite interesting, too!

And so are the stamps:

Sent by Vivien (Hong Kong).

The World Is Small and Connected

Sent by SubMina (Poland).

Sent by Doris (Hong Kong).

I have received these two postcards trough Postcrossing two weeks ago, from Poland and Hong Kong. The first one is an Arabic window (similar to my windows now, but obviously mines are not so beautiful and artistic). The second one is Chinese art (in porcelain), but in the drawing is amazingly similar to the bars and grilles I can see everywhere around me in Morocco.

I like the way that the world is small and connected...
