Sunday Stamps | Marine Creatures

Dutch stamps issued in 2017, featuring marine creatures that are not so usual to see on stamps:

And another stamp recently received. At first sight I thought it belonged to the same series, but this one was issued in 2003, and features a common shore crab (Carcinus maenas).

To dive a bit more into the deep blue sea, go to Sunday Stamps.

  1. These are great specimens! I'm not sure if I even have anything like them. The shorebirds selvage is nice - I wonder if they are marching away from the crab?!

  4. It also looked to to me as if these would be from the same set. Not sure If i have ever received these on my mail, usually the Dutch ones I receive are quite repetitive.
I love the details on the first stamp... as if you could almost feel the fragility of the shells, so well depicted!

    1. Thanks to my friend Heleen, I get a lot of beautiful stamps from the Netherlands. They are usually very detailed.

  5. The crab looks fearsome on this stamp but they all look fierce to e.
