George Morrison (1919 –  2000) was an Ojibwe landscape painter and sculptor from Minnesota. These colourful stamps featuring his works were issued by USPS on 22 April 2022.

  4. I didn't know this artist, and I love the bright coloured landscapes!
    I always envy artists who are able to paint/draw abstract. Although many people say about abstract art things like 'my-6-years-old-niece/nephew-can-do-this-too', I think creating abstract art very difficult to do. For that reason I even attended classes to learn it!.. But I didn't succeed, every work of mine turned out to be clearly figurative.
    So I have big admiration for this artist's works!

    I wasn't familiar either, and the colours are stunning. I think the artist grasps and expresses the wonder of the landscape. Although I haven't ben there, alas.
