Alex Trebek (1940-2020) is a Canadian-born American who hosted the general knowledge quiz show Jeopardy! for 37 seasons (from 1984 to 2020).
This stamp, issued on July 2024, evokes the style of the game, in which a provided answer prompts contestants to respond with the appropriate question. The grid of 20 identical stamps resembles the array of video monitors that form the Jeopardy! game board.
It is a clever design! Actually, until I did not read "Forever-USA", I thought it was not a stamp at all!

ReplyDeleteHaving never seen that show, at first sight I didn't understand the design. Actually, I thought it was just a sticker. But then I read about it, and I agree with you.
DeleteAlex Trebek was a much-loved, national treasure. He truly deserves to be remembered on a postage stamp. But this stamp is a failure. I could not bring myself to buy them.
