Sunday Stamps | Grouse

Today's theme in Sunday Stamps is Birds. I have quite a few in my collection, so today I chose two cousin birds from different countries, whose illustrations I really like.

Western capercaillie
(Tetrao urogallus)
Switzerland, 1968

Sharp-tailed grouse
(Tympanuchus phasianellus)
Canada, 2016

  1. I love that you chose related birds on stamps from different countries. The Canadian one is very dramatic!

  4. Those are both nice! The first reminds me of a turkey, which makes sense, as they are big birds and are hunted for food. I'll buy my turkey at the store, thank you very much! The second is a beautiful illustration.

  6. The Canadian grouse looks as though it has a short temper:) What a great action packed illustration.
