From Poland

It is such a pity that the Magi do not bring presents to Morocco...!

  1. The Netherlands one is an interesting take on the idea of the three wise men!

  2. I'm glad the giant postmark didn't cover the address! Nice to see this one again.

Is the day of the Magi an important day in countries other than Spain?

    1. I think they are in some South-American countries.

This postmark is wonderful. I also like the combination of stamps in your Christmas postcards this year. Maybe to be published... next year?

    2. In the part of NL where I'm living now (the west) the Magi is ignored. People have even quit their christmas trees 3 days ago. While in the region where I grew up (the eadt) people waited to put their christmas tree out of the house until after 6 January, and concerning the Magi ('Driekoningen', three kings), we sang a specific song, and some children went, in groups of three, dressed like the three Magi, to the houses and received some candies then.
Here in the west Saint Martin (Sint Maarten) is the time for children to gather candies at the houses, on the 11th of November.

    3. Fascinating to see that Christmas can be celebrated so differently in different countries/cultures, and even within a single country.

    4. And Eva, even though I am not a religious person, I thought the set of 3 stamps over the last few years looked very nice together, so I am glad you thought so too. The camels are still my favorite, though.

    5. There are a lot of traditions related to the Magi (and Christmas in general). In Spain they also varies from one region to another, and I just know few of them...

I agree about the stamps. They are gorgeous!
