Letter sent by Phillip (the USA). The stamps were covered with an ugly bar code...
Some days later I got another postcard from Phillip with three more Ellsworth Kelly stamps:
No postmark? Yes, but on the front side. And a very cool one!
Orange Red Relief (for Delphine Seyrig), 1990 Ellsworth Kelly |
Mail a Smile Thinking of You Station |
Plus, now I have the complete collection of the series.
That’s a beautiful set!
ReplyDeleteIt is, I love it.
DeleteJ'ai eu la chance de voir pas mal de toiles d'Ellsworth Kelly à Paris ,j'adore son travail !
ReplyDeleteC'est très original, et parfait sur les timbres.
DeleteAustralia Post also puts those barcode stickers on postcards. Yes, you can peel them off easily and they don't leave any trace at all. What an intriguing collection of stamps!
ReplyDeleteI don't get a lot of mail from Australia. But some mail from the USA bears those codes (and most don't; I wonder why).
DeleteI don't know all the reasons why, however if a piece of mail doesn't receive a barcode directly printed onto the envelope, and is then processed by a postal worker, the person prints a label and applies it.
DeleteMail mysteries. We will never know these things.
DeleteNice to see them all together. I'm glad they all arrived.
