Something Nice to Do

Let's have something nice to do in January meeting seems a good slogan!

And another nice thing to do is painting happy stones:

This meeting took place in the city of Rijen (south of the Netherlands). The sender explained me, also with the stamps, that it is located between Breda and Tillburg.

Sent by Heleen (the Netherlands).

Sculptures I

Letter sent by Fabienne (France), with some stunning stamps.

Stamp issued on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the discovery by Howard Carter of the tomb of Tutankhamun, the 11th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (23 June 2023).

L'âge d'airain, by Auguste Rodin. Stamp from 1974.

Stamp Day 1963. Gallo-Roman post.

Issued on 18 February 1961, this stamp depicts La Méditerranée (1905), a 1,03 m bronze located in the Carrousel de Tuileries garden in Paris, made by Aristide Maillol.

The stamp depicts a head of Buddha and a head of Hermes by Praxiteles, symbolizing East and West respectively. It was issued in 1961.

This stamp (a series, actually) relates to a postcard I have recently got through the Postcrossing site, featuring another imposing sculpture: The Great Buddha in Hong Kong.

Greetings from the Keystone State

Pennsylvania-themed letter sent by Phillip (the USA). On the envelope, a non-Pennsylvanian wine label, that matches perfectly with Erie Harbor North Pier Light, with an unique design ("the tower tapers from its base to its midsection, then rises straight from there to the top")

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh and a detailed map of the state.

And matching stamps: Erie Harbor Light and the state flag.

A week after this letter arrived, I got this postcard through the Postcrossing site, featuring Erie Land Light another one of the three Erie lighthouses.
