One among many other curious thing about this new States Project postcard: Why the Texas states bird is the Northern Mockingbird? (Same as in Arkansas and Florida, by the way).
Oh... And is there a state verb?!?
The flag stamp made me immediately think of the following one, which I love
Whenever I meet two Texans together I ask if " Fixin to' is one word "Fixinto" or two words, "Fixin to". Quite often an argument ensues between them!
ReplyDeleteI believe that. I must remember if I meet someone from there :D
DeleteMy favorite is when Texans use 'all y'all', just in case 'y'all' isn't enough. ;)
ReplyDeleteI see it would be difficult to understand them! :)
DeleteTexans also tend to speak quite fast
DeleteWhen it isn't your native language, you think that everyone speaks fast. So, if Texans speak particularly fast for an Englishman... :O
