Excellent assortment of gifted musicians!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard some of them.
DeleteThis is a lovely collection of singers. Where would we be as a society without all those incredible voices?
ReplyDeleteA sadder one, indeed.
DeleteA wonderful diversity of musicians. With the recent death of Roberta Flack I imagine she will be joining the all time greats on a USA stamp in the future.
ReplyDeleteI hope so - these days copyright issues have apparently led to challenges acquiring rights to images of recording artists
DeleteThat would be so sad. It is a great honour to be on a stamp
DeleteI have never heard of heirs not wanting someone to appear on a stamp but... who knows?
DeleteApparently it is one of the reasons there have been few music legend stamps in recent years (Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney Houston)
Deletewow!!! How many women stamps! Excellent collection. Callas' stamp is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have a theme, and so many women musicians to fit it! I have a couple of the US 1994 ones.
