Thursday Postcard Hunt | Le Pays du Mimosa

Tanneron, with its twenty-two hamlets nestling in the heart of the massif of the same name, is the largest area in France planted with both cultivated and wild mimosa, spectacular yellow forests of fluffy little balls, so beautiful to see in their natural environment. From December to March, the abundant mimosa blossom will surprise you with its fragrant, intoxicating gold and light: a magical experience.
The sender, Ania, agrees with that!

  1. They must be amazing to see in the wild, they are pretty enough individually. Although those flowers are messy.

  2. Mimosa always makes me think of the international woman's day: in Italy that is what is gifted to women for that (also it reminds me of a product from L'Occitane ;-))

    2. Yes! The first time I saw large mimosa trees was in Italy, I visited just on women's day and everywhere was full of mimosa bouquets! That's when I looked for other mimosa places and found Tanneron :)

  4. Mimosa makes me think of the cocktail made with equal parts orange juice and champagne. Blossoms are always exciting to see, especially in such large numbers.
