A New Year of Mail
I like that this postcard, among some important events we can look forward to this year, lists "Happy Mail"!
It experienced a small mail adventure. It was sent by Heleen (the Netherlands) well in advance, with my address clearly written on the white envelope and more postage than necessary.

750th Birthday of Amsterdam
In 2025, the 750th birthday of the city of Amsterdam was celebrated with stamps, and also with a Postcrossing meeting.
The first time the city of Amsterdam was mentioned in a document was the privilege (see the back) handed by count Floris V to citizens of Amsterdam (see the front), in 1275. The count also built the castle Muiderslot (see the bottom left stamp). The top left stamp shows the Dam Square.

All is Well That Ends Well
One on my postal projects in 2025 was to count how many days I received mail. Here is the final count:
- January: 3 days
- February: 1 day
- March: 1 day
- April: 4 days
- May: 5 days
- June: 8 days
- July: 7 days
- August: 7 days
- September: 5 days
- October: 6 days
- November: 6 days
- December: 9 days
After a frustrating quarter, things got better. Finally, December was the best mail month of 2025. So we can only hope that 2026 will be even better!

12th Day of Christmas: No
As a recent letter said, we cannot expect anything less than chaos from the postal services. The card corresponding to the 12th Day of Christmas was sent on 17th November, but it still has not arrived. Does it mean Christmas is not over this year?
