Sunday Stamps | K(limt)


Special stamp depicting Portrait of Fritza Riedler (1906) by Gustav Klimt, issued on 14 July 2012, commemorating the 150th birthday of the artist. Design by Adolf Tuma.

The original work (Oil on canvas, 152 x 134 cm) is located in the Belvedere Palace in Vienna and is part of the world's largest collection of Klimt paintings.

  1. Yay! I was looking for one of my Klimt stamps, but they all turned out to be Mucha, so I'm glad you had one.

  2. I imagine Klimt is a popular subject for Austria Post, they translate well into stamps.

  3. SUch a nice subject for today's theme!
    I think other works by Klimt more beautiful, however it always is nice when an artist and/or a painting is honoured by a mini-painting a stamp is :-)

      It is very pretty (and big) in person.
