Sunday Stamps | C for Clothing

These stamps, issued on 3 April 2018, belong to the series History of Clothing, which Magyar Posta began in 2016. It presents two 17th-century wedding outfits that are kept in the Esterházy treasury. More information about these stamps.

The stamps arrived, among other, on this letter from Micu (Hungary).

This is a post for Sunday Stamps, letter C.

  3. Very pretty, what a pity there was no photography in the 17th Century, I'd like to see a picture of a wedding. Nice stamp theme.

    1. A friend writes me sometimes from Hungary, and the stamps are often very nice and, in my opinion, very modern.

  5. Very nice clothing stamps. The link wouldn't open so I'm curious if the stamp on the left side is for men.

    1. I have corrected the link, thanks.

You are right, it's for men: "The first stamp shows a dolman, the undercoat of Hungarian male clothing, which could be worn over a shirt without a pelisse"

  6. I really like his outfit - those buttons sound magnificent! - but hers looks so heavy, and I am distracted by how short her arms look.
But what a treasure to have these in such good condition.
