But, when I first became a postcrosser (in 2008), there were a lot of Finnish users. Some people complained because they got "too much" postcards from Finland. That was never a problem for me. Usually, postcards and stamps from Finland are very nice!
Along the years, I have received quite a few maps of the country...

- Week 4 - States/Provinces/Counties
I live in Finland, but I have got only a few cards from Finland.
ReplyDeletePostcrossing postcards from Finland are less frequent nowadays. I mostly get postcards from Germany and the USA.
DeleteThese are lovely. I agree, Finnish stamps are wonderful
ReplyDeleteFinnish stamps always surprise me :)
DeleteIn my early Postcrossing years I also received much cards from Finland. And even an original, real work of art (an wonderful etch showing a snail on a leaf).
ReplyDeleteNowadays I miss them.
Btw I noticed that the map of Finlsnd (or at least the outer line of the map) is on (many?) Finnish stamps, too!
True, they use the map in the same way the UK use the silhouette of the king, or Spain uses the "ñ".
DeleteThe map means the stamp is for domestic mail. On international Finnish stamps there is a little globe symbol
DeleteThanks! I have got some stamps with the map, so I hadn't realised the difference.
DeleteI love map postcards, and the ones you are showing today are awesome. Amazingly, you have so many of one country. I especially like the last one posted.
ReplyDeleteThe colours of that postcard are better in real!
DeleteI like the first one best, I like the figures and Santa! Although I love the animals on the last, native I assume. I haven't gotten any postcards from Finland via Postcrossing, or sent them there either!
ReplyDeleteSanta caught my attention, too :)
DeleteI'm sure you will get postcards from Finland eventually.
Love the last card and think I have received all those animals on Finnish photo cards apart for the toothy one, unless its a lynx. Great collection.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is a wolf?
DeleteOh yes you are right. I should have remembered Red Riding Hood's encounter!
DeleteI remember those days of getting so, so many Finnish addresses and cards. I never complained. I like that their country is small enough to use on cards and easily show landmarks.
ReplyDeleteI have still to get a postcard from Finland that is not interesting, so no complaints here either!
