Desire to Write and Read Letters

This stamp designed by Anette Messager* was issued par La Poste on 19 February 2018. It belongs to the série artistique ('artistic series'), that reproduces contemporain artworks depuis 1961.

Désir means 'desire, wish, lust...'. As you can read here, the designer chose that word because: 

C'est le mot le plus important pour moi. Sans désir on n'a plus le goût de vivre. Cela peut être infini, comme par exemple avoir simplement envie de faire des confitures... Désir de vivre, d'être, de faire, d'aimer, de transmettre.
('This is the most important word for me. Without desire we no longer have the taste to live. This can be infinite, for example just want to make jams ... Desire to live, to be, to do, to love, to transmit.')

And, as usual, Philippe found the best way to use it on mail art...

This big (20x17.7 cm) is just stunning. It has been painted on cardboard. Then, collaged. The letters are made of cork (!), and the tree of a page of a book/newspaper. The only complete word you can read on the tree is bonheur ('happines'), is this a coincidence?

But the best part is that same days later, the second part arrived:

But, just in case you had doubts, he sent two more:

What a fantastic work! Plus, the envelopes arrived in the right order to put three big smiles on my face.

Oz Jigsaw

I received this original postcard in four parts (a, b, c and d).

Phillip (the USA) posted one piece of this jigsaw every day, at the end of 2015. Of course, they did not arrived in the right order. The second part arrived on 13 January. The rest of the postcards arrive together two days later. In the links above you can see every part and the postmarks.

I love this kind of jigsaw experiments!

Jigsaw Mail

I think this is the most difficult mail experiment I have carried out so far. I wanted to send this message to Heleen (the Netherlands).

I draw it it in the back of four similar envelopes:

So I obtained these (front):

I sent one of them from Morocco and then the second one from Spain. As I wanted every envelope arriving from a different country, I ask two friends for help (don't worry: I paid them in kind. In postcards, to be precise). So Laura sent the third envelope from the UK and Micu sent the last one from Hungary. So... five postal services involved in the matter!

I am not sure if I am going to repeat this. I was too anxious waiting for the four letters to arrive! But finally they did safe and sound. Here you can see two of them (from Spain and Morocco):
