Gorey Catwalk - 2023 All Ages Envelope Art Contest

In recognition of Edward’s fondness for the whimsical medium of envelope art, and in appreciation for the vast, passionate community of artists and creatives who enrich his legacy, the The Edward Gorey House hosts an envelope art contest each year. Our theme for 2023 is Gorey Catwalk. In conjunction with this year’s show Dressed to Kill: Edward Gorey and the Social Fabric, artists are encouraged to think of their envelope-shaped canvases as fabric, embroidery hoops, or perhaps a pleasant tableau for fashionable felines taking a stroll — the interpretation is entirely up to you. The postmark deadline is Monday, October 16th. Submissions are being accepted between now and then. Click here to download the form.

Sunday Stamps | Kinderpostzegels

Each year, since 1924, PostNL issues the Children's Welfare Stamps, sold with a surcharge. The proceeds of the benefits go to the Foundation for Children's Welfare Stamps, whose mission is "give vulnerable children development opportunities for a better future", through different programs within the Netherlands and abroad.

Old Landscape

This iron sculpture of a postal worker in the past century belongs to the set Castellet encantat, by Luis Zafrilla (2018). It is placed in Castellet (Catalonia), and it allows to enjoy a beautiful landscape of vineyards in the background.

Visited Lighthouses

Some lighthouses I have got this month. I have visited all these (years ago)!

The lighthouse of Biarritz (EH), however sent from Austria by Elli.
