We can read on the back of the postcard:
"The Country Letter Carrier", artist unknown, water-colour. His splendid gold banded hat would not have been official issue.So maybe wasn't he a letter carrier at all? It is rather mysterious! I need to go to The British Postal Museum & Archive in order to find out more...
