I thought I did not have any stamp for today's Sunday Stamps-II theme: Canines, But then I received these stamps on the back of a Canadian postcard. Well,,, One of them fits!
These stamps were issued by Canada Post on 22 April 2013. The aim was to call attention to the high number of homeless pets in Canada, and also educate the public about shelter animals and encourage adoption. More information here.
I thought this was a lovely set of stamps, and I enjoyed the different sizes - a bit unusual for a series.
ReplyDeleteI think that the combination of the pictures with that background is very original, I like it.
Deleteoh, I love this set of stamps! Especially since they are promoting awareness about stray animals and their adoption!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great set, indeed.
DeleteYes, lovely stamps and an important message!
ReplyDeleteHow coincidental that you received this stamp in time!
Yes! I'm not sure if I have any other stamp with dogs (probably I have, but I'm not aware). This isn't my favourite theme, but I like this set, too.
DeleteI like the background drawings, too, and how they emphasize that cats should be inside and dogs outside getting exercise by showing the cat with a ball of yarn and a window and the dog with a baseball and a squirrel.
ReplyDeleteI too love those little background sketches; the butterfly at eye level is so funny.
