I am fascinated by how many colours these Machin stamps were issued in. This is just a samall sample of my Machins. I wonder if someone has a collection with ALL the varieties, which seems impossible to me...
I have tried to collect as many colours as I could find, but I kept forgetting which ones I already had and it was getting too expensive (I don't get enough mail from the UK to get the 'free' ones)
I have tried to organise my collection (this is a sample), but there are a few which I have doubts about. I guess I need to dedicate more time to this matter.
So many variations and issues to accumulate, a mammoth endeavor. Maybe the Royal Philatelic Collection will be the most complete as they get copies of all the stamps. The Queen was an active stamp collector.

DeleteI love looking at them - they look like colour swatches/palettes. I don't have many of them, too.
ReplyDeleteI like also the names of the colours.
DeleteI have a few too - from my Postcrossing days. Good selection here.
ReplyDeleteEveryone who exchange mail must have a couple of these!
Deleteoh wow, even bright colors in this collection!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marina! :)
DeleteOver 3,000? Wow. I can't even imagine! I like that purple in the third group down best. Nice bright purple.
ReplyDeleteImagine gathering all those varieties!

ReplyDeleteI suppose the Queen owned all the Machin stamps :)
DeleteI wonder what she thought about.
The passing of the years and that she was never going to let them update the portrait:)
