Eduard (Russia) sent it by mail, but this is not a conventional postcard, and I am not even sure Чебурашка is a conventional animal (A bear cub? A hare with large ears? A monkey?). It was created by writer Eduard Uspensky in 1966 (I hope it does not mean he is not young any more!) as one of the main characters in the book Gena the Crocodile and His Friends and its sequels.

There are two versions: on the stamp, as he appeared in the cartoon Crocodile Gena in 1969, created with the direct participation of the film's production designer, Leonid Shvartsman. On the cardboard, as it was reimagined for the 2023 film.

Fire Truck Letter

I participated last month in the new edition of Snail Mail My Email. I received the following e-mail to be transformed in a letter:

Dear Edison,

We cannot believe how fast you have grown in the past year and a half. We love how joyful, curious, and loving you are. Your laughs and hugs make our days, and we love your snuggles. We also love that you love trucks.

I was asked to include a truck, especially a fire truck. Here you have the front and back of my letter. Please, be indulgent... This is the first fire truck I have drawn in my life!

I hope Edison got it, and it liked the truck. Maybe he cannot read yet, but I like his parents wrote the word "love" so many times.

This monster letter sent by Phillip (the USA) landed in my mailbox two weeks ago. (Well, actually, it didn't: I had to go to the post office to retrieve it.)
