Happy Roald Dahl Day!

The Enormous Crocodile

The Big Friendly Giant
'A dream,' he said, 'as it goes WHIFFLING trough the night air, is making a little BUZZING-HUMMING noise. But this little BUZZY-HUM is so silvery soft, it is IMPOSSIBLE or a human bean to be HEARING it'.

The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me

The Giraffe's NECK, which HEAVEN knows was long enough already, began to grow LONGER and LONGER and LONGER and LONGER and HIGHER and HIGHER and HIGHER...

Do Not Choose Extinction

I got this postcard from Phillip (the USA), with a significant advice:
READ TOGETHER
Don't let your imagination
become extinct!

And matching stamps of Toni Morrison with a first day pictorial postmark:

Few days later, a postcard from Bryon reminded me not to choose extinction. A UN mini-sheet and stamp on the back...
... And an almost extinct species on the front!

Sunday Stamps | Roads

Two stamps issued in Malaysia in 2011, dedicated to Underground Engineering Excellence. I find rather curious the second stamp, featuring a schematic cross-section on the SMART Tunnel.

The M4 Viaduct stamp belongs to the 1968 British Bridges series.

This is also a post for Sunday Stamps, today's topic being Roads.

Letter to You

Letter to You
Bruce Springsteen

’Neath a crowd of mongrel trees
I pulled that bothersome thread
Got down on my knees
Grabbed my pen and bowed my head
Tried to summon all that my heart finds true
And send it in my letter to you

Things I found out through hard times and good
I wrote ’em all out in ink and blood
Dug deep in my soul and signed my name true
And sent it in my letter to you

In my letter to you
I took all my fears and doubts
In my letter to you
All the hard things I found out
In my letter to you
All that I’ve found true
And I sent it in my letter to you

I took all the sunshine and rain
All my happiness and all my pain
The dark evening stars
And the morning sky of blue
And I sent it in my letter to you
And I sent it in my letter to you

In my letter to you
I took all my fears and doubts
In my letter to you
All the hard things that I found out
In my letter to you
All that I found true
And I sent it in my letter to you
I sent it in my letter to you

How Old-fashioned It All Was

«Es va preguntar quan havia estat l'últim cop que havia escrit una carta, va ser conscient de com n'era, d'antiquat, tot plegat; bolígraf, paper, sobre, segell, bústia.»

Peace Is the Highest Value of Humanity

I have published several posts about the Peace Stamp Project. I have got a bunch of wonderful envelopes from different countries. And I still hope to get some more.

But no doubt that the most meaningful is this one, received from Ukraine.
